"Live" Adoption Education - RSVP Required
If you are looking for an alternative to internet education and the opportunity to ask questions, we have the answer! "The International Adoption Process" is open and free to anyone. The sessions are designed to meet partial Hague adoption education requirements and a certificate of completion will be issued. RSVP required for each class and classes are subject to cancellation.
Lesley Siegel, ATWA director, introduces adoptive parents to the intercountry adoption process and our services. The home study, Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), country adoption programs and post-adoption procedures are discussed. Topics also include Hague and non-Hague regulations, laws and adoption requirements and the general characteristics and needs of children awaiting adoption.
The sessions are held at the ATWA main office at 395 Taylor Boulevard, Suite 116, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. To reach our office, take Highway 680 to the Willow Pass Road exit. If you are heading NORTH on 680, turn left onto Willow Pass Road at the bottom of the freeway exit. If you are heading SOUTH on 680, turn RIGHT onto Willow Pass Road at the bottom of the exit. When you cross Contra Costa Boulevard, Willow Pass Road changes names to Taylor Boulevard. At the second stop light AFTER Contra Costa, turn LEFT onto Lucille Lane and make another immediate LEFT into our parking lot. Although many spots are marked, you may park anywhere except at the red signs. Our office is located on the first floor of the second brown building by the blue U.S. post boxes, next to the small pond and waterfall.
